Google e la lettura: la net generation cresce stupida?

Google ci rende stupidi? (Is Google making us stupid?) è questo il provocatorio titolo di un articolo di Nicholas Carr pubblicato sull’ultimo numero del mensile americano The Atlantic e ripreso anche dalla stampa italiana.

Non è la prima volta che viene lanciata l’allarme sulla parcellizzazione della capacità di concentrazione degli internauti abituali. La Net generation ha difficoltà a concentrarsi a lungo su un testo complesso, essere multitasking sarà un bene o un male sul lungo periodo? I libri per ragazzi avranno ancora lettori forti tra i net geners?

Sicuramente lo stesso autore ridimensiona l’allarmismo che il titolo un po’ sensazionalistico dell’articolo sembra veicolare. La differenza nei modi di pensare, leggere, fruire dei contenuti però esiste e lo proviamo su noi stessi: quali gli effetti su coloro che crescono già a stretto contatto con le tecnologie e non vi entrano in contatto in età adulta?

Dice Carr:
